Street brawl in Shannon alarms residents
One man was arrested but released without charge after a street brawl alarmed residents in the Horowhenua town of Shannon.
People who rang police said between five and 20 people were brawling and punches were thrown in the street.
A police spokeswoman said a 29-year-old man was arrested for starting the fight. He was later released with a pre-charge warning.
The fight broke out at a party, where there were "a large number of drunk people".
There were no reported injuries.
