New Zealand Transport Agency union members in Palmerston North are walking off the job.

Workers from the Ferguson St call centre were to leave their Ferguson St offices at 2pm to protest in The Square after workers across the board received a no increase pay offer.

Their action is also in response to CEO Geoff Dangerfield's earning $600,000 - and wanting more, as well as changes to performance-based pay.

At least 100 workers left the office building at 2.15pm and marched towards The Square.

The NZTA's national call centre is based in Palmerston North.

It is one of the largest in the region, holding about 400 workers.
