"While we cannot put a timeframe on how long the search is expected to take, there is no disruption caused to members of the public using the road. At this stage we are not in a position to release any further details on this matter."

A neighbour to the property said a man in his 40s lived at the home, and a couple lived in the sleepout in the back.

She last saw him on Tuesday, and police have been at the property since Wednesday, the neighbour said.

"He just looks like a nice country person, always in his overalls and gumboots."

Police were searching the property with dogs, and had told the neighbour they would be at the home until next Wednesday.

"I just hope the poor man is alright.

"I'm not going to feel safe with them down there. I want to know what's going on."
