One of the women arrested as part of a sting on a Manawatu methamphetamine supply ring has been released on bail.

Vanessa Marie Smith, 39, appeared in the Palmerston North District Court this morning charged with two counts of supplying methamphetamine and one of possessing cannabis.

She was one of six people - four men and two women - arrested last week as part of a police operation, which saw 10 search warrants carried out at residential and commercial properties throughout Manawatu.

She had been in custody since her arrest, but made an application for bail today.

Police did not oppose bail, so Judge Gerard Lynch granted it until Thursday.

As part of her bail, Smith must surrender her passport, not attempt to leave the country and undertake a random drug test if asked to by police.

Others arrested as part of the sting will also appear on Thursday.
