Palmerston North residents who have lost track of when to put out their rubbish, recycling and glass for collection can now go online to check the information.

The new tool is available on the city council's website. All people have to do is type in their address, to find out which days to put out what for the current week and the next week.

Rubbish and recycling assets engineer Natasha Simmons said it would be particularly useful for people who had moved, had lost their calendar of alternating collection dates, or did not want to go outside and check the information on the bin.

The tool has gone live, complete with an extra twist - people who usually have their collection on Wednesday will switch to Saturday for Christmas week.

New Year's Day collections go ahead as usual on the Wednesday.

The tool can be found at the Palmerston North City Council website.

Opinion poll

Will Aaron Cruden's omission hurt or help the All Blacks?

Hurt - he needs as much game time as possible.

Help - finally Beauden Barrett will get a proper run.

Hmmm - no biggie, just a temporary hitch.

Who is Cruden? I support the All Whites.
