A 31-year-old Palmerston North man has been arrested in Auckland in relation to the shooting of a man in Manawatu last year.
The November 26 incident in Palmerston North resulted in the 50-year-old victim receiving serious leg injuries, Detective Sergeant Ashley Gurney said.
The man appeared in the Auckland District Court today charged with wounding with intent to cause grevious bodily harm.
Police opposed bail and he was remanded in custody without plea. He will next appear in the Palmerston North District Court on a date to be confirmed.
Gurney said police would be making no further comment as the matter was now before the courts.
