A severe weather watch continues for parts of Horowhenua as a deep low associated with Cyclone June moves across the North Island.
Metservice issued a watch for heavy rain in central New Zealand, with southeast gales for Horowhenua and Kapiti Coast.
The watch covered the possibility of southeast gales about exposed parts of Horowhenua Kapiti Coast, becoming severe through to about midday today.
The watch for severe southeast gales in Manawatu lifted earlier this morning.
