WorkSafe New Zealand has confirmed it is investigating a serious incident at Alliance Meatworks in Dannevirke.
A man remains in a critically-ill condition in Palmerston North Hospital after an incident involving a stock ramp on Sunday afternoon.
The man, in his 60s, had been operating a stock loading race - a ramp to get stock off trucks - when the accident occurred.
A spokesman from WorkSafe New Zealand confirmed yesterday it was investigating.
New Zealand Meat Workers' Union general secretary Graham Cooke said the man was not a member of the union, but the union was concerned about any injuries.
