Top horses, riders to face off at Feilding
The best horses and riders around will be at this weekend's Feilding show.
Feilding IA&P Association president Jill Martin said about 300 horses were coming to take part in competitions.
She said although the association was one of the consortium partners for the Royal Manawatu show in early December, this was a horse-only show and Feilding ran several each year.
"This is part of the New Zealand circuit. There will be showjumping and hunting. And some of the top riders are coming, Robert Steele and probably Maurice Beatson." Beatson was from Dannevirke and Steele a dairy farmer from Taranaki.
They are past New Zealand, world championship and Olympic riders.
Ms Martin said there would no side shows at the Feilding event.
But she said there would be a barbecue and wine tasting on Friday evening.
