A man charged with snatching a pit bull cross dog from a Palmerston North man in broad daylight has been remanded on bail.
Daniel Hakaraia, 37, is charged with the theft of 9-month-old Knarla, which was ripped from owner Carl True's hands and bundled into a car on Rugby St on February 19.
Police were called to an unrelated incident two hours later, recognised the dog and were able to return it to the family.
Judge Morris bailed Hakaraia until March 21, under the condition that he reside at a Palmerston North address and have no association with Mr True.
