A woman has been taken to hospital after crashing her car into a bank outside Globe Theatre today.

Palmerston North emergency services were called to the one-car crash on the corner of Main and Pitt streets shortly after 7.10am.

Constable Simon Ashton said the woman had a medical episode driving towards The Square on Main St and had driven up the bank missing the traffic lights and wooden hoardings on the hill shortly after 7.10am.

She was taken to hospital to be checked.

There was minor damage to her car.

Meanwhile, Palmerston North emergency services were called to a two-car crash on the corner of Walding and Taonui streets last night.

Sergeant Brendon Gerrish said it appeared somebody failed to give way at the intersection shortly after 6.50pm, but nobody was hurt and there was minor damage to the vehicles.
