Dogs performed tricks with sticks and jumped on dog owner Chelsea Marriner's back as they entertained a crowd of several hundred people at yesterday's Central Districts Field Days at Manfeild.
She said she had nine dogs with her and they had been on the road for five weeks, while one stayed home in Rotorua.
Ms Marriner said they were all farm heading dogs which had been trained to perform, and all of them were able to complete agility skills. They were some of the few live animals at the Field Days.
Meanwhile, hundreds of people watched the dirt fly and tractors smoke and lift their front wheels in the tractor pull contest. Powerful tractors pull weights up a track in the shortest possible time. Many had turbos hidden under the hood, and some had 500 horsepower engines.
