The elderly woman killed in a crash near Manakau has been named.

Gloria Adair Good, 84, of Waikawa Beach, Levin, was killed when the Toyota she was driving collided with a Mitsubishi on State Highway 1, near Gleeson Rd, Horowhenua, shortly after 1pm yesterday.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, an 80-year-old man, was taken to Palmerston North Hospital with minor injuries and has since been discharged.

Levin Acting Senior Sergeant Marty Bull said the woman was not far from home when the crash occurred.

The investigation into the cause of the crash was ongoing, and police would be looking at it ''from all angles'', including whether one of the parties had suffered a medical event prior to the crash.
