Rescue helicopter has busy week

The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter had a busy week, flying eight missions, which involved medical emergencies and motorbike accidents.

On Monday the crew were out to Otaki Forks to winch a tramper out of the bush.

On Wednesday they assisted a tramper in the Tararua Range.

A two-car accident near Turangi on Thursday evening saw the helicopter crew transport a patient to Palmerston North Hospital.

On Friday afternoon they airlifted a woman from Kumeroa to Palmerston North Hospital after a medical emergency.

That night they transported a set of 2-year-old twins from Taihape to Whanganui Hospital after they also had a medical emergency.

On Saturday afternoon the helicopter crew airlifted a man who had been in an off-road motorbike accident near Waiouru, to Whanganui Hospital.

They were back to Waiouru soon after to take another injured motorcyclist to Whanganui.

On Saturday, they flew a Taihape man having a medical emergency from Hunterville to Palmerston North Hospital.
