Australian book retailer Dymocks is leaving the New Zealand market with its last store in Auckland due to shut later this month.
Book and stationery retailer rival Paper Plus has brokered a deal to take over the one shop Dymocks had left in New Zealand on Broadway in Newmarket.
Dymocks will cease trading on September 21 and once a rebranding of the store is complete, franchisees who own another Paper Plus store in Auckland at Birkenhead will operate it.
Customers with Dymocks gift cards and loyalty scheme Booklover points can redeem them at Paper Plus until 24 December this year or online at www.dymocks.com.au.
Dymocks left the Wellington market in 2009 when the company that owned the franchise for its Lambton Quay store went into liquidation.
The Australian owned chain has dozens of shops across the Tasman and nine stores in Hong Kong.
