NZ Post cans Christmas card
One of the options for prepaying for next Christmas has been shut down.
NZPost's Loaded for Christmas, a prepaid Visa card, competed in the pre-paid Christmas market against the likes of hamper company Chrisco, the supermarket Christmas clubs and the Hampsta card.
Many people choose to save for Christmas instead of going into debt to provide festive cheer and February is traditionally the time new customers are signed up.
But a notice on the NZ Post website suggests that Loaded for Christmas has not been among the main choices.
"Unfortunately we've made the decision to close the Loaded for Christmas product. While we and our customers love the product we simply don't have enough people using it," it said.
The cards, which people loaded through automatic payments throughout the year, will will be closed down from March 28.
NZ Post has asked savers to spend any money left on their card.
