Manawatu's Luke Mudgway and the New Zealand men's team pursuit combination won a bronze medal at the UCI junior world track cycling championships in South Korea at the weekend.

The team of Mudgway, Regan Gough, Nick Kergozou and Jack Ford, lost to Australia in the semifinals before beating Italy for the bronze medal, the fourth straight year New Zealand has won a medal in the event.

Palmerston North's Kate Stewart and Christchurch's Olivia Podmore were seventh in the team sprint, while Ashhurst's Jordan Castle was eighth in the men's team sprint with team-mates Lewis Eccles and Michael Culling.

Castle finished fifth in the keirin and Mudgway was ninth in the 10km scratch race.
