Consistency won through for the Central Levin four to snatch victory in the premier section of the Golden Oldies tournament, which concluded on the Palmerston North greens yesterday.
Mick Wilton and skip Phil Harris have been part of the four for several years, winning B section twice and also becoming victorious in C section.
With Bruce Shand and newcomer Ray Hudson in the middle, the four were able to go through unbeaten despite a scare when Wanganui East's Dennis Boss kept them to a draw Thursday morning.
Harris and Wilton are regular members of the Kapiti seniors team. In a continuance of the family dominance in bowls, Harris' wife Helen was with the Hokowhitu four which won the women's event, alongside Shirley Price, Merle Thompson and Bubs Grealey.
Ian Mahoney's West End team were upset by John Pene's Palmerston North team, who until then had not won a game.
