A United States hockey coach will be in Palmerston North as part of his nationwide tour this week.
Dan Brennan, the USA Hockey coaching education manager, is in New Zealand running coaching workshops for the New Zealand Inline Hockey Association.
He will facilitate coaching workshops in Auckland, New Plymouth, Wellington and Palmerston North at the Leisureplex on September 6 and 7.
Brennan oversees the USA Hockey inline and sled hockey programmes.
He has served as general manager for the United States national sled team, and was a director of player personnel and team leader for the United States Paralympic sled hockey team.
He was also general manager for the United States inline team for four seasons, coach for five seasons and guided the team to five medals at the International Ice Hockey Federation inline world championship in Germany in 2004 and Sweden in 2010.
The New Zealand national championships are at the end of the month in Hamilton.
Almost 700 competitors across eight different grades are likely to attend.
