Mangatainoka will play a part as Aaron Cruden and the rest of the Chiefs prepare to defend their Super Rugby title next season.
The Chiefs will play the Hurricanes in a pre-season match at Mangatainoka on February 16. Tickets have gone on sale for the annual event, organised by the nearby Tui Brewery.
The match sees the grounds of the now defunct Mangatainoka Rugby Club transformed from a paddock back into a rugby ground complete with seating for more than 8000 fans.
Tui Brewery commercial manager Nick Rogers, the brains behind the three previous games at the ground, said fans needed to get in quick.
''The last three games held here have sold out attracting a crowd of around 8000 spectators - the Hurricanes biggest attendance at a pre-season game ever. And we can't wait to take New Zealand rugby back to the heartland again.''
Hurricanes head coach Mark Hammett said he was already looking forward to the pre-season game.
''We can't wait to head back to Mangatainoka next year. There is a real sense of rugby community up there. It is great we can be involved with grassroots rugby and take this game to the heart of Hurricanes territory.
''Playing the Chiefs will be a fantastic match. As defending champs, they will be fierce competitors and will help prepare our team for another big season ahead.''
