Craig Perks delivered one of the finest moments in New Zealand golf history when he won The Players Championship on the PGA Tour in 2002 in spectacular fashion.
The Manawatu professional played the final three holes at the infamous TPC Sawgrass layout, a par-five, a par-three and a par-four, in only nine shots for the defining win of his career.
Perks, who works as a commentator for The Golf Channel in the United States these days, is coming home to play in the LawnMaster Classic on The Charles Tour from February 13-16 at the Manawatu Golf Club.
Golf fans from throughout New Zealand will have a chance to play with the down-to-earth professional in a pro-am tournament on Tuesday, February 11 ahead of the LawnMaster.
The prize, which is being auctioned on Trade Me, is a rare opportunity to play with one of New Zealand's PGA Tour winners.
It includes the following - a team of three to play with Perks; lunch for three with Perks before the golf; food and beverages out on the course while playing, a prize table as part of the pro-am tournament; the opportunity to place businesses signage on a hole on the pro-am day; and the opportunity to play the course before the LawnMaster.
The auction closes at 5pm on Friday.
