Grant Searle-trained horses grabbed the spotlight again at Awapuni yesterday morning, with Jungle Recipe, Beada Believe It, From The Spot and Go Nella drawing most attention.

Fast work took place on the plough (good), against the rail on the No 1 grass (dead) with some good times were recorded on both tracks. One gallop was timed on the sand (good).

Jungle Recipe and Beada Believe It, both in at Foxton tomorrow and entered for Hastings (Saturday), used the plough and galloped together over a strong 800m in 49.2, the last 600 in 36.7. Their stablemates From The Spot and Go Nella almost matched that with 800m in 49.2 and 36.6.

Just A Whisper and Macadamia, two more from that barn, reeled off 800m in 50 even, the last 600 in 36.9, and Electronic Hoss, in the maiden hurdle No 2 at Foxton, ended his work with 600m in 37.6.

A Montjeu filly in the Oulaghan stable ran a bold 1000m in 1.3.4, the last 600 in 37.2, while Clarence, in the maiden hurdle No 1 tomorrow, covered the distance in 1.5 and 37.5. Son Of Grace left 1000m behind in 1.6.8, the last 600 in 37.5.

Scrutineer (maiden hurdle) and Striking (mdn steeple) went together over 1200m in 1.18.8 and they came their final 800m in 50, the last 600 in 37.5, which was good work. My Pearly Shells had Lemon Honey alongside over 800m in 51.1, the last 600 in 37.3, and Miss Darley took 51.6 and 37.2.

Keep The Recipe (mdn mile No 1) and Maximum Gold (mdn mile No 2) matched strides over 800m in 51, the last 600 in 38.4, and their stablemates Kaapeon Way and Estero clocked 51 and 38.6.

Yelracm, who goes to Hastings for the r90 1200m, and Go Danny (r94 1400m) were timed 1000m in 1.5.7, the last 600 in 38.8, and Isla Norte required 1.9.5 and 38.8. Debut winner Hatuma, off to Foxton (r70 mile), completed 1000m in 1.7.8, the last 600 in 39.4, and Dodgemallyoulike ended with 600m in 41.6.

On the No 1 grass, Santa Fe and Hastings runner Ben Hogan (open mile or r94 1400m) were paired over a solid 800m in 49.1, the last 600 in 36.1, while their stablemates Zane Bay and Wai took 49.8 and 36.2.

Black Lambo and Wotabuzz got through their work in good style when running 800m in 51.2, the last 600 in 36.2, with Primed And Ready and Surf Patrol following soon after with 50.9 and 37.

Foxton runners Stormbreaker (r80 2200m) and Dolce Vita (r80 1400m), trained by Marton's Margaret Cartwright, were locked together over 1000m in 1.9.3, warming into the gallop, the last 600 in 37.1.

Slave Fire (mdn steeple) cruised through 1200m in 1.20.4, the last 600 in 37.1, and Platinum Elle ended with 600m in 38.2. Deep Under Cover worked alone over 800m in 50.8, the last 600 easing down in 38.8.

Sir Cosworth, in at both meetings, and Between Friends left 1000m behind in 1.5.6, the last 600 in 38.1, while possible race rival Ricky Bobby (r80 1400m) and Blueberry Hill (r70 mile) ran 1.5.8 and 38.7.

A Yamanin Vital gelding and one by Sunray, both with Mark Oulaghan did 800m in 52.5, the last 600 in 38.1, and Tip The Wink was timed 600m in a steady 42.6.

On the sand, Arreviderci, off to Foxton for the r80 2200m, came in from the 1000m mark in 1.7.9, the last 600 in 40.8.
