Manawatu's Aaron Cruden will start for the Hurricanes against the Cheetahs at Bloemfontein on Sunday.

After being a sub in the opening three games, Cruden displaces Willie Ripia.

Among four player changes, there's no room for Manawatu flanker Nick Crosswell with Victor Vito at No6.

With lock Jason Eaton out for the rest of the Super 14 with injury, Michael Paterson takes his jersey.

Former Manawatu man Andre Taylor makes his full Hurricanes debut on the wing with Tamati Ellison (shoulder) and Conrad Smith (thumb) injured. Alapati Leiua will also be on Hurricanes debut at centre outside Ma'a Nonu.

Hurricanes: Cory Jane, Andre Taylor, Alapati Leiua, Ma'a Nonu, David Smith, Aaron Cruden, Piri Weepu, Rodney So'oialo, Karl Lowe, Victor Vito, Michael Paterson, Bryn Evans, Neemia Tialata, Andrew Hore (c), John Schwalger. Subs: Dane Coles, Anthony Perenise, Jeremy Thrush, Scott Waldrom, Tyson Keats, Willie Ripia, Brett Mather.
