Manawatu have maintained their annual ration of New Zealand schools' players.

Palmerston North Boys' High School centre Jason Emery and Feilding High School flanker Doug Horrocks have made the team to play Tonga, Otago under-19 and Australia.

Emery is in his second year in the Boys' High 1st XV and will forego the schools' tour to Britain later this month to play for New Zealand.

Horrocks came from Wanganui to play for Feilding High.

Boys' High's lock-loose forward Jackson Hemopo was in the extended squad, but is likely to make the step up next year. He will go on Boys' High's tour.
