Tim Cadwallader has played 15 games for Manawatu since his debut in 2014.

The Manawatu Turbos have re-signed two more players from last year's squad in Harrison Brewer and Tim Cadwallader.

Manawatu Rugby Union chief executive John Knowles confirmed they had picked up deals with the duo, bringing the contracted Turbos list to 27.

But that includes All Blacks Nehe Milner-Skudder and Aaron Smith along with injured duo Travis Taylor and Jason Emery, who are all unlikely to feature for the Turbos.

Cadwallader, 22, provides a flexibility up front.

He made his Manawatu debut in 2014 as a prop and was used exclusively on the tighthead side of the scrum in his second season in 2015.

But 2016 saw him focus on hooker.

He went into the season as they team's first choice hooker, but his struggles throwing the ball into the lineout meant he lost his place.

At 108kg, Cadwallader is on the small side for a front-rower, but his work-rate and ability to carry the ball has impressed.

Brewer, who is son of former All Black No 8 Mike Brewer, returned from Ireland two weeks ago and looked to have added some more weight to his frame.

The 22-year-old Ireland-raised flanker made his debut against Canterbury last year and went on to play six games for Manawatu.

This will be his second season as a loose forward after converting from the midfield where he played for the Ireland Under 20s side.

While the team is filling up fast, there are likely to be places in most positions still up for grabs.

Meanwhile, Kenyan sevens star Willy Ambaka, known as the Kenyan Lomu, remains in limbo as he tries to get a visa to play rugby in New Zealand.

The Manawatu Rugby Union confirmed in April that they were interested in the 26-year-old, but he has still yet to get clearance from Immigration New Zealand.
