A $4.5 million winning Lotto ticket in Blenheim has been claimed.
Lotto New Zealand corporate communications advisor Kirsten Robinson said Saturday night's Powerball winner was from the Nelson area.
They came forward today but Robinson could not provide any further details.
The winning ticket was bought at Countdown Blenheim on the corner of Seymour and Arthur streets.
Another Lotto player, who won $500,000 with Lotto first division, was yet to come forward, Robinson said.
That winning ticket was sold at Pak 'n Save Blenheim.
Robinson yesterday said the double win was very unusual, but not unheard of.
''It's definitely been a particularly lucky weekend for Blenheim - it's very exciting,'' she said.
The big wins come a week after the Powerball was struck by a Christchurch player, who quit his job after he won $14.3m with a ticket purchased in Ashburton.
