Fans wish Clara wellHAMISH CARDWELL
Marlborough teenage music sensation Clara van Wel, who will be appearing in the grand final of New Zealand's Got Talent on Sunday, has a "big voice" and a "big heart".
John's Kitchen convener Yvonne Dasler presented Clara with a good luck card last night that had been signed by diners, and called on people in the region to vote for her in the final round of the TV competition.
She was full of praise for the 15- year-old Marlborough Girls' College student.
Not only did Clara give the community kitchen her nominated $1000 prizemoney after the Stars in Your Eyes talent competition in Blenheim last year, she also performed at a concert at the kitchen, Ms Dasler said.
"She has a lot of fans here. A lot those who eat here don't have TVs so they are going to each other's houses to watch the performance."
Clara will perform an original song in the final on Sunday and said she was starting to feel some nerves.
"It is getting to the point where you have to focus on what you are doing. There are some nerves but I just want to get out there and do it."
Twelve acts have made it through to the grand final.
New Zealand's Got Talent will start at 7.30pm on TV One on Sunday.
To vote for her after the show, text Clara to 8981.
Voting closes at noon on Tuesday.
