EXHIBITIONS
JS Parker – Plain Song is a major retrospective exhibition, curated by Dr Damian Skinner, celebrating 40 years of works by Marlborough artist JS Parker. It opens for general viewing at the Millennium Public Art Gallery on Saturday, after a panel discussion about Parker's works at 11am (RSVP on 5792001 if you wish to attend that).
"Engineered art" by Aaron Black using stainless steel and mild steel, and sculptures by Leah Fraser-Henderson make up a garden art exhibition showing this month at the Hunter's Wines Garden Cafe and Cellar Door, 603 Rapaura Rd.
Auger is the title of a sculpture exhibition by Graham Bennett at the Diversion Gallery, Grove Mill Winery, Waihopai Valley Rd, showing until November 29.
TALK
"Gold in the Marlborough Provincial Government Days" is the title of the final presentation in a series of talks organised by the Marlborough Historical Society for the 150th anniversary of Marlborough. Tomorrow's talk starts at 5.15pm at the Marlborough Museum. Gold coin donation.
PERFORMANCES
Eurobeat – Almost Eurovision continues as a theatre restaurant comedy production by Blenheim Musical Theatre at its Lakings Rd theatre. Tickets for the 7pm show, which finishes on November 21, cost $60 (or $330 for a table of six) on dinner evenings or $40 ($210 table of six) on dessert nights.
Secrets Every Smart Traveller Should Know opens at the Boathouse Theatre tomorrow night at 8pm for a 10-night season and a 4pm matinee performance on Sunday.
