Live original hip-hop grooves return to Dolce Bar & Restaurant this Saturday night with the arrival of the Master Pilot Sound System.
The Sound System is derived from the Nelson-based seven-piece Master Pilot, best known for their single Swing It and independent compilation Monster Tracks.
Made up of DJ Lazy J, Kurnel MC and Stylee, the hip-hop group are regular visitors to the region. Their most recent performance here was at Dolce late last year.
Luke Epapara, aka Kurnel MC, said the trio's performance this weekend would be full of "positive vibes and energy".
Punters could expect a progression from downbeat to groovy, funky hip-hop early in the evening, but once everyone "warmed up" covers from UK and US hip-hop gurus such as Snoop Dogg and Roots Manuva would be thrown into the mix. "We like to jump around and get a bit raucous."
Epapara says multiple genres like dubstep, breaks and "tear out" drum'n'bass are all added to the mix by the end of the night.
