EXHIBITIONS
New works by Annemieke Farmilo are showing at Riverlore Gallery, State Highway 6, open from Tuesdays to Saturday between noon and 5pm. A selection of limited-edition fine art prints and original oils on canvas by Joanna Dudson Scott are also showing.
Off the Page is an exhibition of original illustrations from New Zealand picture books opening at the Millennium Public Art Gallery on Saturday. Another exhibition opening in the gallery on Saturday is Recent Paintings by Michael Hight, featuring beehives in rural Marlborough on canvas.
Ten Out of Ten is an exhibition showing 10 artists' works to celebrate The Diversion gallery's 10th year at Grove Mill. They are Claire Beynon, Don Binney, Don Peebles, Eion Stevens, Jeff Thomson, Lindsay Missen, Melvin Day, Michael Smither, Richard Adams and Wayne Seyb.
Contemporary art works from a private collection can be viewed in The Stevenson Collection on Wynen St between 1pm and 4pm, Monday to Thursdays. A gold coin entry fee is donated to Hospice Marlborough.
Painter and sculptor Kim Gabara and wood and steel sculptor Bruce Fergus are the artists in residence at Lochmara Lodge Arts Centre. Works by Rick Edmonds, Rachel Olsen, Deborah Walks, Tim Mains, Chrissie Sallis and Roy Grose are also showing.
Summer selection by printmakers Deborah Barton, Manu Berry, Olav Nielsen and Robbyn Webster is showing daily at the MVH Gallery, Marlborough Vintners Hotel, 190 Rapaura Rd.
MUSIC
The 2010 Blues Brews and BBQs at the Marlborough A and P Showgrounds on Saturday features a leading New Zealand blues line-up, the Darcy Perry Band from Auckland, the Giddy Robins Trio Electric Blues from "outback Methven", female Dutch duo The Rollicks now based in Hawke's Bay, Blenheim's Chilli Dogs and Australian solo guitar acts Lloyd Speigel and Nick Charles.
Free family entertainment is offered at Music in the Park, held on Sunday between noon and 3pm in Seymour Square. Music performed will be by The Beatles and the Black Seeds.
