New Zealand guitarist Andrew White performs at Le Cafe on Saturday, during a national tour to promote his latest album, Walk in Light.

Described in a press release as a "finger-style guitar virtuoso and songwriter", his musical career started at 16, busking in Auckland. In 1989, he landed a record deal with United States label Narada and played on international stages with other artists such as Clannad, Michelle Shocked, Tommy Emmanuel and John Renbourne.

White was a nominee for Musician of the Year at the 2009 Nova Scotia Music Awards and the Walk in Light album is nominated for Folk Recording of the Year at the 2010 Canadian East Coast Music Awards. His travels are documented in his songs. His concert on Saturday starts at 8.30pm ($10 cover charge).
