Families are invited to another Music in the Park in Seymour Square on Sunday, following its launch earlier this month.

Organised by Blenheim DJ Glenn Kirby, who runs Marlborough Light Entertainment, Music in the Park sets the scene for families and friends to pack a picnic and come together for some shared leisure hours in the square at no cost.

This Sunday's event will follow the same 12pm to 3pm format and popular tunes by acts such as The Beatles, ABBA and Stevie Wonder will resound through the park via Mr Kirby's electronic sound system. He played some requests last time too, and is ready with one already made for this Sunday: Bob the Builder. A kids' treasure hunt through the square will also be repeated.

"It's just a nice afternoon sitting in a park, listening to some music," Mr Kirby said.

Mr Kirby guessed Sunday's Music in the Park would complement a Family Day at the nearby Millennium Gallery. Authors/illustrators Gavin Bishop and Jenny Cooper will talk about their books as part of an exhibition, Off the Page.
