Comedian Mike King brings his humour to Le Cafe, Picton, tomorrow during a 20-show South Island tour.
Australian entertainers Emma Powell and Bev Killick bring their 2010 show, Busting Out, to the Marlborough Civic Theatre next Tuesday. Tickets Adults $61.90, seniors $54.90, groups (10 or more) $51.90.
Exhibitions
Off the Page is an exhibition of original illustrations from a selection of NZ picture books. Also showing at the gallery are Recent Paintings by Michael Hight, featuring bee hives in rural Marlborough on canvas.
The newly named Yealands Estate Marlborough Art Gallery run by the Marlborough Art Society on High St now has two viewing spaces. Wairau and Beyond is showing in the original gallery, now named Clear Water Gallery with works by Elsie Hall, Bev Ormiston and Robin King. Other Artists of Marlborough have works in the new Clear Skies Gallery.
New works by Annemieke Farmilo can be viewed at Riverlore Gallery, State Highway 6, Tuesdays to Saturdays, 12pm-5pm. A selection of limited-edition fine art prints and original oils on canvas by Joanna Dudson Scott are also showing.
Ten Out of Ten is an exhibition of works by 10 artists Claire Beynon, Don Binney, Don Peebles, Eion Stevens, Jeff Thomson, Lindsay Missen, Melvin Day, Michael Smither, Richard Adams and Wayne Seyb celebrating The Diversion gallery's 10th year at Grove Mill.
Contemporary art works from a private collection can be viewed in The Stevenson Collection on Wynen St between 1pm and 4pm, Mondays to Thursdays. Gold-coin entry fees are donated to Hospice Marlborough.
Painter and sculptor Kim Gabara and wood and steel sculptor Bruce Fergus are the artists in residence at Lochmara Lodge Arts Centre. Works by Rick Edmonds, Rachel Olsen, Deborah Walks, Tim Mains, Chrissie Sallis and Roy Grose also showing.
Fine art printmaking by Marlborough artists Craig Bluett, Wendy Murphy and photographer Jim Tannock, along with new print and plate works by Olav Nielsen and rare early works by Kathryn Madill are showing in The Spaces in Between, at Marlborough Vintners Hotel, open at 190 Rapaura Rd, 10am to 5pm daily.
