Picton's Puffin home to roost
Lyttelton musician Lindon Puffin returns to home-town Picton tonight to play at Le Cafe.
Puffin (previously called McCormick) has been holidaying in the family bach at Whatamango Bay, Tory Channel "re-charging batteries". Last month he joined nine other musicians doing a 17-show Lyttelton Rough Road Revival tour and earlier this month he supported British folk singer-songwriter and activist Billy Bragg.
It was a reunion with Bragg, says Puffin, who had "hustled really hard" to do one support act during the Englishman's 2008 tour around New Zealand. "Then I hung out with him afterwards; he is one of my long-term heroes."
Puffin is glad to be playing in Picton tonight.
" I do genuinely love coming back."
