Following its double-banner Radio Gaga show, the Havelock Theatre Company is preparing its next production, Grand-dad's Army.

It will run from late January to early February at the Havelock Town Hall and potential cast members are invited to a 4pm reading there this Sunday.

The two-act play was written by Rick Edmonds, who revives some of the characters used in his earlier shows.

Edmonds will direct Grand-dad's Army and urges theatre newcomers to attend the reading.

Not all the roles in the play are speaking ones, so people nervous about remembering their lines can concentrate on gaining stagecraft confidence, he says.

Old stage hands are also welcome and there are male and female roles for actors of all ages.
