Italian guitarist Andrea Valeri will perform in Marlborough this week during a tour of New Zealand.

Valerie, 22, was born in Pontedera, Tuscany, and started learning to play the guitar when he was 10 years old.

He started performing professionally when he was 16 and has since been described as a "prince of finger-style guitar", and "an ambassador of new acoustic music".

Live music promotions manager Liz Coutts from Havelock said Valeri had "stunned audiences" in the North Island where he combined concerts with guitar workshops.

He will play at Le Cafe, Picton, on Thursday and at The Secret Garden, Blenheim, on Friday.
