A sumptuous new heuchera hybrid, Georgia Peach offers stunning colour from spring through summer and autumn.
Its foliage starts out a pale peachy orange in spring, gradually darkening and turning to rosy purple tones in autumn and winter. It has creamy white flower spikes in summer.
Georgia Peach prefers semi to full shade and well-drained soils and is ideal for indoors as well as out.
Also known as coral bells, heucheras come in a range of colours, with at least 140 known hybrids, ranging in colours from dark burgundy to bright yellow.
An alternative under planting to hostas, they are easy to care for, hardy when established and only need feeding and watering occasionally. They look great as accent plants, borders, in container gardens, rock gardens, cottage garden, mass plantings, as ornamentals, under plantings and in woodland areas.
TIPS
Add an extra layer of compost around the roots during autumn in case of frost causing plants to heave out of the ground. New roots will grow into the compost. Propagate by division during late winter. Remove any tattered leaves during spring to make room for new foliage. Grow in partial shade to achieve the strongest colours.
