Woman arrested after man knifed
A Blenheim man has been stabbed in the chest at his home.
The man, 62, was taken to hospital in Blenheim after the attack about 8pm on Thursday.
Police believe the stabbing was a domestic incident.
Detective Sergeant David Woodley, of Blenheim, said the man was stabbed at his Redwoodtown home with a large kitchen knife.
The cut to his chest was about 5 centimetres deep.
A police spokeswoman said the injury was serious but not life-threatening.
The man was taken to Wairau Hospital but a hospital spokeswoman said on Friday the man had been treated and was no longer at the hospital. The Marlborough Express understands he discharged himself.
Police charged a 46-year-old woman with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The police spokeswoman said the woman lived at the house and was the only other person at the house at the time of the incident.
Police were not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident, she said.
The woman was held in custody to appear in the Blenheim District Court on Saturday.
