A 30-year-old painter was to appear in the Blenheim District Court yesterday following a domestic incident.
Police said the man was arrested shortly after 5.30pm on Tuesday but would not release further details to protect the victim.
The Express understands it related to an incident at de Castro Drive. Witnesses said at least four police cars were called to the Blenheim street about 4.30pm on Tuesday, and at one point were blocking entry to the street.
Meanwhile, a 21-year-old man was also arrested on Tuesday on a warrant and in a separate incident a 29-year-old man was arrested for disorderly behaviour in Blenheim's town centre. He was released with pre-charge warning.
In other police news, three boats were broken into at Waikawa Marina, in Picton, on Tuesday. Marine electronics, petrol tanks and a gas stove appear to have been targeted. It appears that the offenders forced locks to gain entry.
