A 24-year-old Blenheim man was yesterday sentenced to five months in prison on charges of driving while disqualified and breaching a community work sentence.
Judge Richard Russell said it was Jesse Damien Joseph Farrow's fourth conviction on each of the charges, and he continued to show contempt for the law and for court orders.
The forest worker had been given a chance in March by another judge to complete an outstanding 56.25 hours' community work to avoid a prison sentence, Russell said.
He had since gone "awol" and not completed any more of the hours, he said.
