MetService has warned of heavy rain across Marlborough over the next two days.
Rivers and streams could swell, with possible slips and flooding and driving conditions could be hazardous.
The heaviest rainfall was expected to hit today at lunchtime.
A spokesperson for Marlborough District Council said they weren't expecting rain of "armageddon proportions" but urged motorists to drive to the conditions.
It was good practice that householders clear stormwater grates and guttering.
