Niue news thrills pair
Express sends couple on sunny getawayGERMARI HERSELMAN
Winning a tropical holiday was the best way to brighten up a rainy Marlborough day for Rob and Kylie Andersen.
The couple are the first Marlborough winners of The Great Niue Getaway, bring run by the Marlborough Express and Fairfax Media. Thirty holidays are up for grabs.
Rob Andersen said the couple always entered competitions, but never expected to win anything.
For this competition, which started last Monday, he said his wife had kept chasing him up to make sure he entered each day.
"The call yesterday morning [when he was told that they had won] was the best wake-up call you could ask for, especially on a rainy day when you just wanted to stay in bed," he said.
The couple have been to Rarotonga for a short visit for a friend's wedding, but this would be their first proper holiday in the Pacific Islands.
The couple were really looking forward to their tropical break and had already booked it for the middle of November.
The holiday package includes return airfares to Niue Island with Air New Zealand, including domestic flights to Auckland and seven nights accommodation at Matavai Resort with return airport transfers.
Marlborough Express readers still have plenty of opportunities to win a holiday, with a new code word published in the paper each day in June.
