A train and a truck collided in Picton today.

St John Picton station manager Tony Cronin said emergency services were called to Lagoon Rd just after 1am.

The collision was low impact, however the tractor-trailer truck was shunted several metres along the track, Cronin said.

A woman, in her early 30s, was driving the truck when the collision happened. She was assessed at the scene by a paramedic but was not injured, Cronin said.

Firefighters were called as a precaution about 1.45am.

Picton chief fire officer Wayne Wytenburg said the train hit the truck where the tractor connected to the trailer, pushing it forward.
