Drunks arrested after Picton brawl

A 26-year-old unemployed man was arrested after a fight in Picton, police say.

He was fighting with another man at Wairau Rd about 8.30pm on Tuesday.

Constable Andrew Holdaway, of Blenheim, said the man, who was drunk, continued to behave poorly when police asked him to leave the area.

He was taken to the Blenheim police station cells to sober up and was released with a pre-charge warning.

A 26-year-old woman was also arrested for disorderly behaviour.

The woman was arrested at Girling Ave in Blenheim at 10.30pm on Tuesday.

She was held in custody until sober and released with a pre-charge warning.
