Marlborough dancers faced some tough competition during the weekend at the 36th annual Blenheim Dancing Society competitions.
More than 100 dancers from Wellington, Nelson and Christchurch were in town for the event for ballet and modern dancers aged 5 to 17.
Marlborough Dance Centre teacher and society committee member Gemma Adams said the three-day event had run smoothly.
"It's gone really well, everything has been running smoothly and the kids have had a good time. There are some really promising dancers [in the competition]," she said.
Marlborough's Hannah Roche, 15, had been selected during the competition to compete in Palmerston North at the end of the year, for the title of young performer of the year, Adams said.
Adjudicator for the competition was Lesley McElwain, of Wellington.
