The number of employees in Marlborough's top industries - agriculture, forestry and fishing - dropped by 40 in 2013, compared with the previous year.
The latest figures from Statistics New Zealand showed agriculture, forestry and fishing as one industry, which had an employee count of 3660 in 2013, compared with 3700 in 2012.
As one industry, it included viticulture, aquaculture and hunting. Accommodation and food service showed the largest decrease - down 150 employees - from 1800 in 2012 to 1650 last year.
