Revamp for cafe, cellar starts
Saint Clair Cellar Door and Cafe will be closing for eight weeks so it can get a fresh coat of paint and an extended kitchen.
The cellar door and cafe will close today at 5pm for eight weeks and Evan Jones Construction will start the renovations next week. Southern Hospitality would take care of the kitchen extension.
Saint Clair Family Estate's joint marketing manager Sarina Ibbotson said the cellar door would be getting a "ceiling to floor makeover".
The estate's other marketing manager, Julie Ibbotson, said the new look would reflect Saint Clair's winery values of quality, experience, viticulture, passion and family.
"[But] we don't want to give away too much as we want to have an element of surprise for those visiting."
The cellar door has been operating from the same building on Selmes Rd in Rapaura for the last 14 years.
Saint Clair bought the business from Bruce and Bridget Crawford in June 2012 with plans to upgrade and continue to offer good food and service.
Pataka, the adjoining food store, would stay open during the cellar door closure.
