Construction workers have reached a major milestone in the new ASB Civic Theatre project with the building standing at 10-metres tall.
Robinsons Construction Ltd managing director Phil Robinson said work on the Blenheim building was travelling at a pace and workers were half way through building the 22m tower which will be the highest point of the build.
Panel and beam installation started this week.
Sixteen men and sub-contractors were working on the build with an estimated 25 workers to be on site as construction kicks up a gear.
"It has been quite a challenge technically. We will never get the chance to build another building like this. It is very exciting."
The project is scheduled for completion by mid-2015.
