New heights for Crown

A Cloudy Bay Business Park sheetmetal firm specialising in supplying the wine industry has nearly doubled the size of its workshop in an effort to increase efficiency.
Marlborough mayor Alistair Sowman officially opened NDA Group Ltd's Crown Sheetmetal 1200-square-metre and 14.5-metre-high workshop last Thursday.
Group chairman Gary Mollard said the expansion was needed to provide extra lifting capacity, as the old workshop was too small and low, which made building large storage vessels difficult.
The company's main business is manufacturing storage vessels for the wine industry, although it also supplies smaller vessels for businesses in the dairy and biodiesel industries.
NDA Group Ltd is a privately owned New Zealand company with manufacturing operations in New Zealand, Australia, China and the United States.
In New Zealand, it services the dairy industry through its NDA Engineering brand, and the wine industry through Crown Sheetmetal.
The company also held an official opening of its Invercargill Crown Sheetmetal workshop expansion last week.
