A boat trip in the Marlborough Sounds turned into a hospital visit for a Christchurch man when he fell overboard and cut his leg on the boat's propeller on Saturday.
Blenheim St John Ambulance manager Rebecca Lee said the man was taken by ambulance to Wairau Hospital with moderate leg injuries after he was brought to Havelock Marina by boat.
Ms Lee said the man told her he had fallen overboard while checking the boat's bungs, cutting his leg on the propeller as he went. The propeller was not running.
The 50-year-old was holidaying in the Sounds, but it was not known where the accident took place.
A Wairau Hospital spokeswoman said the man was treated and discharged on Saturday.
